Public Education System
To enroll your child in a K-12 public school within the Seattle Public Schools (SPS) district, begin by completing the online registration process, which opened on January 6, 2025, for the 2025-26 academic year. Ensure you have the necessary documents ready, including your photo ID, your child’s birth certificate or passport, two proofs of residence dated within the past eight weeks, and your child’s immunization records. Students are typically assigned to a school based on their home address, but during the Open Enrollment period from February 1 to February 28, you have the option to apply for different schools through the School Choice process.
