Whale Watching
From April through October, hundreds of whales, including humpbacks, minkes, finbacks, and right whales, gather at Stellwagen Bank near Cape Ann to feed on small sand eels, forming the world’s largest concentration of whales in both number and species diversity. During whale watch excursions, expect to spot four to ten whales, with humpbacks often coming within 50 feet of boats, breaching, spy-hopping, and lob-tailing.
